Certifications explained
In sustainable fashion, you encounter many terms and certifications. This is valuable, but it can also be confusing.
That's why we clearly explain the most important certifications. Not as separate logos, but as tools to better understand what a product tells you about materials, production, and origin.
Certifications help to make claims more concrete. At the same time, not every label says the same thing. One standard focuses mainly on materials, another on production or animal materials.
Why certifications are important
A certification provides more certainty than a general claim such as 'sustainable' or 'conscious'.
Good certifications clarify:
- which part of the chain is checked
- which requirements are set
- what a claim is precisely about
This way, they help to make sustainable fashion more tangible. Also, read more about transparency & impact.
No label tells the whole story
We see certifications as part of the whole.
A label can have a lot of value, but never tell the whole story. That's why we always also look at quality, brand vision, transparency, and how a product practically fits into our collection. You can read about this in our selection criteria.

Clarity over vagueness
